I admit that after reading The Fellowship Of The Rings I had little interest in reading the rest of the trilogy. It’s something I’ll probably revisit someday, when I’ve been awake for several days and need something guaranteed to put me out. My wife convinced me to go the see the films though and I’ve quite enjoyed those over the years.
While I might not be the biggest Tolkien fan, I certainly appreciate a great build. Swan Dutchman‘s tower is built scaled down on to a 48 x 48 baseplate, but it’s huge in detail.
I’m a big fan of doing large structures in this scale because it’s small enough to be able to display practically anywhere, but not so big that it’s cumbersome or overbearing. I’d love to see a Minas Tirith in this exact scale to match. Fingers crossed.
As always, I’d recommend a pass through the album on Flickr to get a better look at the details.
